Our 5-Step Fit Process
At Peak, we know the right shoes make all the difference. That’s why we take the time to understand you—your history, your goals, and how you move. Here’s how our personalized fit process works:
Step 1: We Start with You
Your journey begins with a conversation. We’ll ask about:
Any current or past injuries (foot, knee, or otherwise)
Foot pain in the arch, heel, or forefoot
Issues like blisters or black toenails
Whether you wear orthotics or inserts
Your training goals—general fitness, 5K, 10K, marathon, or beyond
The surfaces you typically run or train on
Your average weekly mileage
This helps us build a complete picture of your needs before we even look at shoes.
Step 2: Precise Measurement
Next, we take detailed measurements of your feet—both seated (unweighted) and standing (weighted). We also measure key point-to-point dimensions to understand how your feet change under pressure.
STEP 3: Gait Analysis
We’ll observe you walking or running a short distance on the treadmill. This lets us see your natural movement patterns and biomechanics.
We look closely at:
Body posture
Body symmetry
Each phase of your stride—from heel strike to toe-off
Step 4: Fitting and Recommendations
Based on what we’ve learned, we’ll bring out shoes that match your needs. Together, we’ll:
Check the fit carefully
Watch how you move in each pair
Discuss the options and our recommendations
Answer any questions you may have
Step 5: Comfort is Key
Finally, it’s all about how you feel. The right shoe should feel natural, supportive, and ready for your miles ahead. When it feels right—you’re ready to go!
